Dr. Benoit Derat
Senior Director of Engineering
Rohde & Schwarz
Dr. Benoit Derat started his career at SAGEM Mobiles as an antenna design and electromagnetics engineer. During these years, he gained expertise in antenna measurements and simulations, and actively contributed to innovation and international standardization in near-field techniques for exposure assessment to radio frequency waves. In 2009, he founded ART-Fi that created the first vector-array SAR measurement system and initiated the IEC 62209-3 standard. Dr. Derat operated as the CEO and President of ART-Fi until 2017, before joining Rohde & Schwarz. He is now leading the R&D for EMC, OTA, antenna and A&D test systems, as Senior Director of Engineering.

Marty Zimmerman
Engineering Fellow Technical Business Development - Commscope
Marty Zimmerman is an engineering fellow and leads the technical business development team for the BSA/Filters organization within the Outdoor Wireless Networks group at Commscope.
He and his team are responsible for driving the development of next generation antenna and filter products based on collaborations with key customers. Other duties include managing the BSA IP portfolio and providing technical guidance on M&A activities. Previously Marty served as
director of Engineering for BSA after working his way up from being an antenna design engineer. Prior to that he worked as an antenna engineer for Sinclair Technologies, Analex, and was a NASA contractor.
Marty holds 40 U.S. and numerous foreign patents in addition to having been published in several journals.


Dr. C.J. Reddy

Altair
Dr. C.J. Reddy is the Vice President, Business Development (Electromagnetics) for Americas at Altair Engineering, Inc. Dr. Reddy was a research fellow at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada and was awarded the US National Research Council (NRC) Resident Research Associateship in 1993 to work at NASA Langley Research Center. While conducting research at NASA Langley, he developed various computational codes for electromagnetics and received a Certificate of Recognition from NASA for development of a hybrid Finite Element Method/Method of Moments / Geometrical Theory of Diffraction code for cavity backed aperture antenna analysis. Dr. Reddy is a Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES) and a Fellow of Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA).

Eric Black
CTO - Pivotal Commware
Eric Black is CTO of Pivotal Commware. After receiving his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon in 2010, Eric worked on several DARPA and other defense projects at Boeing Research and Technology. His interests lie in the design, fabrication, and evaluation of metamaterial-enhanced electromagnetic systems.


Ali Ozgur Yilmaz
President - Anketek, Inc.
Ali Özgür Yılmaz received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. His research interests include multi-antenna systems, low-complexity transceiver design, effects of transceiver nonlinearities on communication systems, coding and information theory in wireless communication systems, 5G communication, resource allocation problems, interference management, and radar signal processing. He has close ties with the industry and contributes to various efforts in developing a local 5G ecosystem.

Dr. Ganesh Sundaram

Dr. Sundaram is a leader in wireless technology with over 20 years of rich experience in technology creation, and has worked extensively with operators globally. Prior to founding the Company, he was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and lead multiple secure wireless solutions initiatives at Bell Labs, New Jersey. He has developed several foundational technologies, leading to new standards, products and deployments, and has authored over 50 patents relating to mobile data networking, architecture, security, cryptography, resource management and mobility management.

Tayfun Ozdemir

Tayfun is a electrical engineering professional steeped in antenna and electromagnetics fields with subspecialty in radar systems, communications systems, embedded systems, sensing , signal processing and machine learning. 25 years of experience in technology and business development.


Dr. Apostolis Sotiriou
Assitant VP of Sales - Raycap
Apostolis is Assistant VP of Sales where he owns the formulation, proposal, and decision of strategic priorities for Raycap’s STEALTH Concealment business. He has 18+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with 12 in increasingly responsible roles at Raycap.
His focus is on strategic customer relationships, and on which new technologies and product development to focus R&D resources to best support customer needs. His firsthand experience in the design & development of new concealment products and solutions for
Raycap’s STEALTH integrated 5G light pole solutions makes him uniquely qualified to present this material at the 5G Antenna Systems Conference.


Corbett Rowell

Corbett Rowell is a Senior Development Expert in OTA and Antenna Measurement Solutions at Rohde & Schwarz. Prior to joining Rohde & Schwarz, Corbett was an electrical engineering professor in Kazakhstan and an adjunct professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology for two years; an R&D director at China Mobile Beijing, responsible for development of massive MIMO systems for 4.5G and 5G FR1; an R&D director at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute for almost a decade, where he focused on advanced RF systems; and an entrepreneur who founded two successful startups. At Rohde & Schwarz, he was Inventor of the Year in 2018, developed three new portable CATR systems for 5G FR2, and designed a new OTA Extreme Temperature product line.
Mohamed Sanad
Professor - Amant Antennas
Mohamed Sanad is a professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. He was also an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA. He has founded "Amant Antennas" in Reno, Nevada, USA. He got his Ph.D. degrees from University of Manitoba, Canada.
Dr. Sanad directed several research projects for some of the largest telecommunication companies in the USA and the world. He is the one who invented the first internal (embedded) integrated antenna for cellular phones when he was leading the antenna team at Nokia Mobile Phones in San Diego, California.
Dr. Sanad won the 2012 Innovation Prize for Africa, "IPA" (US$100,000). "IPA" was awarded by the United Nation Economic Commission for Africa "UNECA" and the African Innovation Foundation "AIF" in recognition of one of his base station antenna innovations.
